Finally! I know, I know, I am slow. I received our engagement photo proofs awhile back, but it took a bit of time to decide which photos we wanted and then to get the cd and prints. I am so excited to show you some of my favorites from our shoot with Alexis of Red Stone Photography.
I love all of the ones above, particularly the one of us laughing in front of the door. That photo has a dominant place on our wedding website. My mother and some of Nick's friends didn't get the shot of our feet, but I know a lot of brides do!
I love the top two photographs. I might not have mentioned I'm fairly uncomfortable being photographed. Nick says, "You're so awkward!" I am just so used to being behind the camera that it is hard for me to be photographed. I'm also TERRIBLE at serious faces or not smiling, the bottom photograph showcases that. I am trying my best not to laugh or look ridiculous, but it is impossible!
I am hoping that we will be able to meet up with our wedding photographers {Turtle Pond Photography} for a getting-to-know-you session over Thanksgiving break so I can loosen up a bit and feel more comfortable with Amanda and Nate on our actual wedding day. Just from my half hour phone conversation with Amanda about the wedding and design, I think I've feel a bit more comfortable.
These bottom two photos are the two we will probably use for our engagement announcement for the newspapers in our hometowns. I prefer the left one, even though my hair is a bit in my face.
There you have it! Our engagement photos. I definitely think having an earlier engagement session was worth it: our families will be very excited to have an updated picture of us and I have professional photographs of us to use on our wedding website. {In my mom's family, we give these types of pictures to our aunts at Christmas in pretty frames. Our Christmas this year will be over Thanksgiving since our wedding is pretty much on the day of our would be celebration.}
This also made me realize how much I want to spring for professional make up and hair. If I hadn't done it myself maybe I would have noticed my eyebrows were kind of screwy that day...
