Dilemma is a bit strong, but I'm definitely in a bind. The time has come for me to chose a flower girl dress/outfit for my four-year-old niece. I've blogged about other flower girls dresses before: here and here. I have {kind of} given up on the fabulous tutu idea because I don't think an ivory tutu will look as great as the multi-colored ones floating around. {I'm scared to go with green because it might clash with the flowers and look a little too Tinkerbell.}

I like the idea of the two dresses above; they seem slightly tutu inspired. The one on the left from Forever Yours {imagine it in ivory} seems a smidge dowdy. I'm not a huge fan of the long skirt and boring neckline. I particularly like the shorter one on the right from Watters' flower girl line WaWa, but maybe in ivory with a black or green ribbon. Or would the green work? I'm worried it might be too Eastery and not wintry enough. It will be COLD during December in Indiana.

While at my first dress fitting last week, my mom and I leafed through a few of the catalogs of flower girls dresses available through the salon. The dress above was the only one that really leaped out at me. I love love love the bodice...BUT is it might be a little too miniature bride and I am not in love with the skirt. I would almost want it to be shortened and both layers the same length.

This last outfit is pretty traditional, but still very cute. The patent shoes, I'm guessing an ivory stocking. I would take any of the tops, but would love love the sequin one {but it is pretty expensive, unfortunately}.
So what do you think? Which would you choose that compliments my dress, shoes, and the bridesmaids dresses?
awww, so cute! I love the little headpiece on the girl in the green dress. :-D That dress is my favorite, too... I think it's little-girly enough and also dressy enough for your wedding. (The last one is adorable, but maybe a little too informal? I know, she's 4... I hope there aren't etiquette rules like that for her yet, but I think you know what I mean.) I like that the shorter dress is slightly less formal (and more age-appropriate for her) than the bridesmaids' and your dresses (all gorgeous, btw), but the fabrics on the green dress make it fancier even though it's short.
Also, I love a flower girl in some color - either the whole dress or at least a sash. The "mini-bride" thing weirds me out to no end, too! So I think a little (or a lot of) color helps that a lot. If she wore the green color, you could put a cute little ivory cardigan over her, and maybe matching tights. Can't wait to see what you choose!!

The green dress is really cute, but I'm kind of gettng the Tinkerbell vibe there. I totally agree about the miniature bride thing. It gets a little "mature" looking. Shorter lengths are definitely better.
My personal favorite is the sequined sweater and the skirt. You have some layering going on with your bridesmaid ensemble with the pashmina and i think the cardigan would compliment that. the white is really pretty without being mini-bride. i think it's different, too. the best part... the girls could wear it again. not in the way you tell a bridesmaid that she could wear her dress again. but a little girl can really wear a cardigan and skirt again. i think it would be just so pretty--especially if she has some flowers.

I really like the green one but I understand your concerns on that one. But I also love the idea of the skirt and sequined sweater. That is so precious. Good luck making a decision. I know it's tough!

Does the green dress come in ivory? It would be adorable.

The apple-green flower girl dress is cute! I'll suggest my friend who will be married this year to choose apple-green dresses for her flower girls.
