According to some wedding guros, a bride should know before dress shopping what styles she likes or dislikes. I've looked through magazine after magazine after website after book. I haven't really liked any dress that isn't something completely unaffordable, for example, couture Vera Wang or Monique Lhuillier custom made for some society bride.
I'm not a ballgown kind of gal. I'm not a huge fan of the very popular mermaid style. Finally on Sunday while watching the Screen Actors Guild Awards, I saw Marion Cotillard, the actress from La Vie En Rose wearing my dream dress.
I just love this dress. It is a ballgown without the princess/prom dress look I despise. I want to feel like a princess, but without looking like I'm inside a giant cupcake. This dress is perfect and I would love to see if I could find a similar style (pleating, slim skirt) or if I don't fall in love with any, get a dress similar to this custom made.
Have you found any inspiration in the red carpet? Are you having your dress custom-made?

Sofia – Thank you so much for the info. I am hoping to visit a bridal salon here that carries Pronovias; I will definitely make an appointment now.
